Peace and blessings to you!
To speak about the history of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is to speak about two women living in Rome, Italy who became friends and collaborators and who devoted their life’s work to children, Sofia Cavalletti and Gianna Gobbi.
The way CGS began was quite by accident, without warning or planning, the way God so often comes into our lives. Sofia liked to say, “We started without knowing we started." She saw in numerous children a way of being in the presence of God that is both unique to the child and a gift to the adult who stops long enough to notice. The experience with these children changed her life.
The experience with the children has changed our lives!
This is evident as here we are, 20 years later, with 13 atria established, and countless numbers of children and adults who have experienced the gift of CGS.
And so, with much gratitude and joy, we would like to mark this milestone with praise and thanksgiving to Our Lord!
We would like to cordially invite you to gather as a CGS family for a celebration of Holy Mass, as part of our ongoing celebration of CGSAS 20th Anniversary.
Details are as follows:
Date: 16 November 2024, Saturday
Time: 11 am
Venue: La Salle House, Multi-Purpose Hall (Ground Floor)
This will be followed by a celebratory lunch.
As this celebration is not only an opportunity to honour the milestone of 20 years of nurturing the spiritual growth of children and adults, but also to reflect on the many blessings we have received, and to look forward to the path ahead. Thus, your presence would be a valuable part of our celebration.
Please RSVP by 12 November to confirm your attendance. We look forward to seeing you at this special event!
Warmest regards,
Christina Ying
